Grant Application Process

Stage One: Requires the completion of a pre-proposal, which is a short application that must be completed online. Only those that have been invited to submit a full-proposal may move on to Stage Two. Pre-proposals are due at 5:00 PM CST on Thursday, December 11, 2008.  You will be notified as to the status of your application no later than February 2, 2009.

Stage Two: This applies only to those proposals selected to submit a full application. The information in the pre-proposal becomes part of the full proposal application and does not need to be entered a second time. Instructions for submitting a full-proposal will be posted in January.  Full proposals are due no later than 5:00 PM CST on Thursday, February 26, 2009.

Submitting a Pre-Proposal (Stage One)

1. Download and read the North Central Center's 2009 Request for Applications carefully.

2. View the Proposal Resources available through the online application website. These resources have been developed to help applicants prepare a successful proposal, and include the following:

These resources provide a full explanation for every item requested in both the pre-proposal and the full-proposal application.

3. Registration information: To register, use this link to access the Extension Risk Management Education Results Verification System.  Please bookmark this website for future reference.  Select "New Grant Proposals/Pre-Proposals/Registration".

4. Project number and password: After you submit your registration information, you will be emailed a project number and the password you selected.

5. Pre-Proposal login: Return to the Extension Risk Management Education Results Verification System website and select "New Grant Proposals/Pre-Proposals/Registration", log in using your new project number and password, and follow the instructions for completing the Pre-Proposal.

** Important **

Don't click "Submit" until you are completely done with your pre-proposal.  You may return to the application website as many times as you wish to continue entering or editing your pre-proposal, but once you click "submit" the pre-proposal is locked. You will need the project number and password assigned to you to access your application each time.

Don't forget that the deadline for submission is Thursday, December 11, 2008 at 5:00 PM CST. Occasionally the on-line application site moves slowly when there is a lot of activity so it's recommended that you submit early!

If you have any questions or need more information before beginning your on-line application, please contact Alissa Randall Haines, arandall4@unl.edu or 402-472-2039.
